Vacation Pictures

Family Vacation 2008

Ok, we are finally back from our long drive. We started our vacation by driving 14 1/2 hours to Preston, Idaho. The Stolworthy family reunion was held at Cub River Ranch just outside of Preston. We arrived at about 10:00 pm Friday evening. We had a nice drive out, and the van ran suprisingly well while we towed our homemade trailer behind it. The family reunion was fun. It was nice to see all of John's family again. We had fun playing in the pool, and camping out in the back of the van. On Saturday morning, we had a photographer come out and take some family portraits for us since all of the family was there. Even Lean and Jeff were out from New York with all their kids. Their son, Jarret, was heading to the MTC the next week. It was great to see them. I spent alot of my time trying to remember all the kids names and which ones were which. LOL There was a family auction the last evening and I sold all the bracelets and bookmarks that I made at the auction. It was fun.

On Sunday, after we left the reunion, we drove through Preston, taking pictures of various sights from the movie Napoleon Dynamite. It was fun. I'll post those pictures along with the rest. After sight-seeing, we drove to Shauna's house in Logan for a birthday get together for Tony, John's youngest brother. We were there for a few hours before heading down to Salt Lake.

We spent the night Tanya's house Sunday evening. It was nice to visit with Mom and Tanya's family that night. John went to his parents house that evening to drop off the trailer for a few days so we didn't have to tow it around town. I enjoyed spending the next two days with my sisters and my Mom. We had fun visiting, laughing, and wrestling kids. LOL We got to go to JCPenney and take some pictures. Then we had a fun lunch at Leatherbys afterwards. I ate WAY too much as did everyone else, but it was definately delicious. :)

John and I went to visit our friends, AJ and Jodi Stosich Tuesday evening and had a great visit with them. We really miss them here in Omaha. When we got back to Tanya's house, we stayed up until the wee hours of the morning talking and laughing. We enjoyed telling John the pirate jokes we had learned the night before. I think we finally went to bed at about 3:00 am.

Had some trouble getting out of bed on Wed. Imagine that!! But we managed to finally get packed up and headed out by noon. Then we drove down to Posey lake in southern Utah to camp with John's family. It was a great trip. We enjoyed it immensely. I did a lot of fishing, and had fun visiting with my sisters-in-law. The kids had a great time as well. Although, Emeron did get sick and spent a portion of the time in bed. He felt much better by the time we left.

The drive home was really neat. I had never seen some of the beautiful scenery in southern Utah before. It really took me by surprise to see the rock formations there. I'll post some of those pictures as well, although it's not the same as seeing it in person. I was hoping to show the kids the mountains of colorado as we drove through the passes, but unfortunately, it was dark and rainy by the time we reached that point of the journey. We ended up stopping for several hours outside of Denver to get some sleep. We managed to pull into our drive way at about 2:00 Sunday afternoon. Man!! It's HOT here!! We are still working on getting our A/C repaired in the house and it was unbearable Sunday evening. We all slept in the basement on the floor because it was marginally cooler down there. I'm just hoping we don't have to purchase a whole new A/C unit. We spent more money than we had planned on our trip and I don't want to have to put an A/C unit on the credit card. But we will do what we have to. Anyway, it was a successful trip and we were sad to see it end.

Another week...flown by

I can't believe it's Friday again. But I'm always happy to see Friday. :) We had a busy week as usual. We really enjoyed the nice warm weather the last couple of days. We managed to get some yard work done. Emeron, Oreo and I enjoyed a nice long walk yesterday to go watch the trains pass under the bridge down the street. It never fails though, that no matter how long we stand there and wait, the trains never start moving until we've walked 1/2 way back home.
Kim is spending the night with a friend and her family at a local hotel for some fun. John and I will be attending the Stake Gold and Green ball this evening where my clogging group will be performing a couple of dances.

My band started rehearsing again last night after a 3 week break. It was fun to get together and jam after a nice break. We are looking forward to our next performance in two weeks. It will be a big birthday bash for a friend.

Emeron is keeping me hopping during the day. We went to the gym this morning so he could get some play time in and hopefully some energy out. LOL So far it seems to be working, we'll see how long it lasts.

Family Slide Show

Kim's prize winning "Pink-wood Derby" car. She painted it all by herself and won every race we had! We call it the "Sponge Mobile". LOL

It's Friday!!!

I'm so glad it's Friday! I am spending the majority of the morning catching up on laundry and......creating this new family blog! :) I have several friends who have blogs that I can use to catch up on what's going on in their lives. I thought it would be a good idea to get one started. Now maybe it will be easier to keep up with our family weekly e-mails that I'm supposed to send every Monday. We don't have any big plans for the day. Emeron and I will be going to visit my friend, Diana, today. Emeron is excited to play with her son, Ian. In fact, I was just reading Diana's blog and that's what made me decide to get my butt in gear and do something to keep everyone informed more than I have been. So hopefully, you will be able to find out what's going on in our lives a little better with this blog. Hope everyone has a GREAT weekend!!
